In Wisconsin, energy efficiency isn’t just about new lighting or saving on energy bills. It’s about building trust, solving problems, and creating long-lasting relationships. For nearly 40 years, Riley Electrical Supply has been doing just that.
This family-owned business was recently honored with a 2025 Energy Efficiency Excellence Award from Focus on Energy. It’s recognition that’s been a long time coming.
As a dedicated Trade Ally, Riley Electrical Supply has helped businesses across Wisconsin complete more than 500 energy-saving projects. They’ve worked with more than 100 customers, many of them long-term partners, and helped save over 151 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. That’s enough energy to power 870 Wisconsin homes for an entire year. Even more impressive: those projects have brought in more than $460,000 in Focus on Energy incentives, helping businesses improve their bottom line while reducing their carbon footprint.
But numbers only tell part of the story.
At Riley, the real power comes from the people behind the projects. Owner Tim Riley and his team don’t just sell products—they listen, solve problems, and make it easy for customers to act. That includes managing paperwork, identifying qualifying equipment, and ensuring every step of the process is smooth and stress-free.
One of Riley’s most loyal partners is Holiday Automotive, a Fond du Lac auto dealership. COO Willie Beyer says the partnership with Riley has spanned more than two decades and dozens of upgrades.
“Riley’s been there every step of the way—supplying lights, recommending fixtures, and making sure we had the best quality,” Willie said. “They’re proactive, and they know exactly what rebates are available through Focus on Energy. That kind of help makes our decisions easier.”
“Every time we do a project, I walk into the shop and say, ‘Wow.’ It’s brighter, more welcoming, and it honestly changes the energy in the room,” Willie added. “It helps morale. It helps productivity. And it’s better for the environment.”
Lighting upgrades at Holiday Automotive have done more than just reduce energy costs—they’ve improved how the spaces feel for employees and customers.
Tim Riley says that kind of feedback is what keeps them motivated.
“Our goal has always been to help customers save money, feel good about their investment, and create better, more comfortable spaces,” Tim said. “With Focus on Energy, we can do all that—and more.”
Sean Bode, the Focus on Energy Advisor who has worked closely with Riley for years, agrees.
“They’ve used every part of the program to help their customers. Riley is a true champion of energy efficiency in Wisconsin.”
From small retail stores to large dealerships and manufacturers, Riley Electrical Supply proves that energy efficiency doesn’t start with technology—it starts with service. And thanks to their commitment to helping others, their impact is being felt across the state.
