Helping Wisconsin Farmers Keep More of What They Earn

Three brothers founded Brubacker in 2020. Today, the company serves about 1,500 customers from locations in Curtiss and Boscobel. Most are dairy and beef farms, along with some sheep and goat operations. Word of mouth and lasting relationships have helped the business grow.

Brubacker also connects farmers with FOCUS ON ENERGY® and explains how equipment rebates can help lower the upfront cost of upgrades.

“They have done a tremendous job of promoting the Focus on Energy program to their customers through education, where the rebates come from, why the customer should do what they're doing,” said Kevin Weiler, Focus on Energy Agribusiness Energy Advisor.

Everyday Equipment Offers Ways to Save

The changes address everyday needs on the farm. Large, slow-turning fans move air through barns and help dry bedding while using less electricity. Variable frequency drives control motor speeds on fans and feed mixers to help reduce energy use. Low-energy livestock waterers and lighting upgrades offer more ways to save.
Those improvements add up. Projects completed in 2025 helped Wisconsin farms save 3.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. That’s enough to power 575 homes in the Northwoods. Brubacker customers are saving $460,000 in annual electricity savings and received $257,000 in Focus on Energy incentives to help pay for their projects.

“They have run with the Focus on Energy program,” Weiler said.
