Home Performance Program

Find your path to comfort and savings

Discover your home’s hidden potential and learn how to improve comfort, lower your energy costs, and boost efficiency. The Home Performance Program offers several paths to savings, with incentives and expert guidance available for energy improvements both large and small. To achieve the greatest benefits, it’s best to look at your home as a system with many different parts all working together. The right mix of improvements can make a huge difference in how your home performs.

Choose Your Path

You've Got Options
Let's take a closer look at the different paths available through the Home Performance Program. Keep in mind your energy efficiency journey doesn't have to follow a straight line. Plus, you may qualify for a $250 bonus incentive when you complete Whole Home Improvements and Heating and Cooling Improvements together.

  • Whole Home Improvements
This is the best place to begin if you’re looking for top home comfort and serious savings. You’ll receive a full energy assessment, a customized report with recommended energy improvements, and a Home Energy Score that allows you to compare the efficiency of your home to other homes, using consistent metrics. Home Energy Score was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and is like a miles per gallon rating for your home and is coming as a separate improvement path in 2018. Recommendations may include specific building shell improvements, like insulation and air sealing, as well as heating and cooling equipment upgrades. Because this is the most comprehensive approach, it costs more up front, but you get the highest financial incentives and you’ll enjoy the largest long-term utility bill savings. Other advantages include greater home comfort, reduced drafts and temperature fluctuations, and better indoor air quality.
Financial incentives range from $850 to $2,250. Learn more
  • Heating and Cooling Improvements
If you aren’t quite ready for the Whole Home approach, but want to take smaller steps to lower energy bills and increase home comfort, the Heating and Cooling Improvements path is another great option. It offers financial incentives for a variety of energy- and money-saving improvements, such as a new furnace, boiler, smart thermostat, or water heater. You can move forward with one project at a time or earn even greater incentives when you choose from the packaged options.
Financial incentives range from $75 to $875. Learn more
  • Renewable Energy
If you’ve already taken steps to ensure your home uses energy efficiently, you may be ready for the Renewable Energy path. You’ll receive technical support and financial incentives for installing solar electric or geothermal renewable energy systems.
Financial incentives range $650 to $2,000. Learn more
