Focus on Energy is offering financial assistance and equipment for qualifying Building Performance Consultant (BPC) and Rating Field Inspector (RFI) trainees.
BPCs, also known as Home Energy Raters, are energy professionals who are trained and certified to evaluate a home's features and prepare an energy efficiency rating. Experienced BPCs are adept in assessing a home's projected energy performance either from construction drawings or by physically inspecting the home.
RFIs are certified by a Rating Quality Assurance Provider to conduct field inspections for home energy ratings. RFIs may conduct inspections and necessary basic performance tests (air tightness and duct leakage) to produce home energy ratings. This certification requires the ability to identify and quantify building components and systems.
There are three trainings you will need to complete, which are paid for by Focus on Energy. Focus on Energy staff can also help you navigate and understand how to complete each one.
