IRA Home Energy Rebate Programs are Available

Wisconsin continues to offer IRA Home Energy Rebate programs (HOMES and HEAR). These programs are available and will continue beyond 2025. We are still:

  • Processing Income Qualification applications
  • Processing project reservations
  • Reviewing project submissions
  • Paying rebates

Federal Tax Credits Ending December 31, 2025
Some federal tax credits, including those Energy-Efficient Home Improvements (under Section 25C) and Residential Clean Energy (Section 25D) will expire at the end of 2025. Until then, homeowners can claim up to 30% of the cost of qualifying improvements, after rebates and discounts. Eligible improvements include:

  • Heat pumps and heat pump water heaters
  • Insulation, windows, and doors
  • Biomass stoves
  • EV chargers and home energy audits
  • Solar panels, geothermal systems, battery storage, and more

25C and 25D projects must be installed and paid for by December 31, 2025.
These credits are nonrefundable—they only apply if the homeowner owes federal income tax. Customers should always check with their tax preparer for qualification, installation, and payment deadlines.

Maximum Savings
IRA Home Energy Rebates and tax credits can be stacked with FOCUS ON ENERGY® incentives on qualified equipment to further reduce project costs.
