Celebrating 25 years helping Wisconsin turn everyday energy choices into lasting savings
MADISON, WI - Better lighting in your children’s schools. Insulation upgrades for your home. Energy-efficient dairy barns sustaining Wisconsin’s family farms. Partnering with Wisconsin’s leading manufacturers to cut energy costs while expanding production.
That’s 25 years of Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program. And the numbers speak for themselves.
The 2025 independent evaluation of Focus on Energy showed lifecycle energy savings in 2025 were enough to power almost 940,000 Wisconsin homes for a year.
“For a quarter century, the Focus on Energy program has proven that energy efficiency is one of Wisconsin’s most feasible and functional tools for reducing waste, managing energy costs, and strengthening communities,” said Summer Strand, Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. “The 2025 program evaluation results demonstrate the significant benefits Focus provides our state—measurable savings for customers, meaningful reductions in energy use, and a lower burden on the grid.”
Focus on Energy’s 25-year impact includes more than 7 million residential projects and more than 200,000 nonresidential projects across the state. Customers consistently give the program high marks. The 2025 evaluation found an average customer satisfaction rating of 9.4 out of 10, continuing a strong, multiyear trend.
