Two Gold Awards

Judges for the MarCom Awards and dotCOMM Awards recognized Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s utility-funded energy efficiency program, with two Gold Achievement Awards. The awards are presented for creative and concise communication combined with commitment to excellence in both traditional and digital marketing.

The Gold MarCom is the result of a robust summer marketing plan which involved creation of educational materials, an email marketing calendar, a blog, explainer videos, and a “Friday Focus Five” video which is a monthly YouTube series. These multimedia tactics target homeowners with money-saving energy tips. Our call to action encouraged residents to complete a home energy assessment either in-person or through the FREE online tool. Home energy assessments provide a custom action plan for energy-saving upgrades.

Focus on Energy’s website redesign caught the attention of the dotCOMM Awards. The website was recognized for its clear and concise messaging, its user-friendly design, and its ability to effectively communicate the program's commitment to energy efficiency in the “Informational Website” category.

“We are thrilled to be recognized for our website redesign,” said John Landowski, Focus on Energy Digital Director. “Our goal was to create a website leveraging a modern user experience to provide an informative, engaging, and easy to use experience for our customers and partners.

One of the key features of the new website is its card display interface. This interface makes it much quicker and easier for users to find the right energy-efficiency rebate. The website redesign was led by Focus on Energy’s digital team, in collaboration with a team of web designers and developers. The teams collaborated to develop a website that would align with the program's brand and its mission of helping Wisconsin homeowners and businesses save energy and money.
