The Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) recently awarded FOCUS ON ENERGY® Residential New Construction Program Manager Andy Kuc with the 2022 Associate of the Year Award. The WBA award is the highest honor an associate within the organization can receive and it is a testament to Andy’s commitment to the WBA and its members.
Andy works with Focus on Energy Trade Allies who are building new homes that will receive “Focus on Energy Certification. These homes are between 25% and 100% more efficient than homes built to Wisconsin’s residential building codes. Prior to joining Focus on Energy in 2009, Andy worked in in the architecture world directly with contractors. He rebuilt the Focus on Energy Residential New Home Construction Program with his deep understanding of whole building and performance-based energy efficiency services. His commitment to the program and to the Trade Allies he works with are why his peers nominated Andy for this prestigious award.
“I get to work with Building Performance Consultants, Builders, and Trade Allies on site as they build high-quality, Energy-Efficient Homes as well as prospective homebuyers,” Kuc said. “When they say, ‘Thanks for taking the time to explain all this to us’, it’s instant gratification for me. That makes my day.”
As a member of the Brown County Home Builders Association, Andy provides Energy Efficiency Continuing Education courses for members. He also volunteers much of his free time to WBA events and the WB Foundation Golf Outing.
“Our industry is lucky to be supported by so many impactful members that are constantly striving to fulfill our mission of advancing affordable and accessible housing for people across Wisconsin,” said WBA Executive Director Brad Boycks. “We are excited to be able to recognize this year’s award recipients for their work improving the housing industry.”
Congratulations, Andy!
