Focus on Energy Assists Pool Works with Lighting Upgrades

DE PERE – Focus on Energy helped shine a light on energy and cost savings for the Green Bay area’s go-to retailer for pools and hot tubs.

Pool Works Inc. owners Dave and Connie Kubiak have always prided themselves on excellent customer service, but admit until recently the quality of their store’s lighting left something to be desired.

That changed when they upgraded their store’s exterior and interior lighting to LED (light emitting diode) technology over the past year.

The lighting upgrades at the De Pere business received an incentive of more than $2,900 from Focus on Energy’s Small Business Incentive Program. Funded by Wisconsin utilities, Focus on Energy works with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

Pool Works will see an annual energy savings of at least $4,000 by saving an estimated 36,711 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. That energy savings equals the annual energy usage of three homes.

The lighting upgrades were completed in September of 2017 by Focus on Energy trade ally, US Lamp Inc. of Green Bay. The store’s electric provider is Wisconsin Public Service.

“We not only reduced our electrical costs, but we are now enjoying brighter work areas,” Dave Kubiak said.

Focus on Energy information, resources and financial incentives help to implement project that otherwise would not get completed, or to complete projects sooner than scheduled. Its efforts help Wisconsin residents and businesses manage rising energy usage, promote in-state economic development, protect our environment and control the state’s growing demand for electricity and natural gas.

The incentive to Pool Works Inc. from Focus on Energy helped the Brown County business reach a quicker return on investment in energy-efficient lighting. As a result, they are now soaking in the benefits of lower energy bills and a better lit store.
