About the Pilot / Demonstration Project

The Accessible Efficiency Pilot enhances the lives of eligible Wisconsin residents by offering free installation of energy-saving and smart home devices that support independent living. This effort aims to deliver energy efficiency, increase accessibility, and foster independence among underserved communities, including income-qualified seniors and individuals with mobility or accessibility barriers.

Pilot Objectives

  • Deliver energy savings through innovative technologies
  • Increase independence for participants through smart home solutions
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and usability of smart devices
  • Build and leverage meaningful partnerships with community-based organizations
  • Understand the perception and impact of Focus on Energy among targeted groups
  • Discover the non-energy benefits of energy efficiency measures

Get Involved

Why Participate?

Eligible residents will receive free smart home and energy-saving equipment including smart speakers, thermostats, lighting, power strips, and handheld showerheads, installed by trusted professionals. Participants benefit from improved comfort, safety, and convenience.

 


Participation Requirements

  • Be a residential customer of a Focus on Energy participating utility
  • Meet income eligibility (details at https://focusonenergy.com/income-qualified)
  • Be a senior (65+), have a disability, or face accessibility barriers
  • Have a stable home wi-fi connection and a smartphone/tablet
  • Complete a Customer Referral Form with a participating CBO

 


Apply Today

To apply, contact a participating Community-Based Organization (CBO). CBOs will verify eligibility, provide information, and assist with enrollment via the Customer Referral Form.
