Home Energy Assessment

The Big Red Door: Your First Step to Greater Comfort and Savings

Winter is here. A home energy assessment is the first step to greater comfort and savings in your home whether you are making energy-efficient improvements, are listing your home for sale or if you’ve recently purchased a home. Almost every house can benefit from an assessment.

Behold the power of the Big Red Door.

Big Red Door

A comprehensive home energy assessment will tell you exactly where your home is wasting energy and what improvements you can make to boost comfort and lower your utility costs by 20 percent or more. Learn more

How It Works
The Big Red Door is the diagnostic tool that our Trade Ally contractors use to perform a blower door test. Using a special fan, it measures the air tightness of a home and locates any leakage sites, like unsealed cracks and openings. By addressing your home's air tightness, you can:

  • Lower energy consumption
  • Prevent moisture condensation
  • Reduce drafts and increase comfort
  • Improve air quality

Cash Incentives
Once you're put your home to the Red Door Test, it's time to decide which energy-saving home improvements best fit your needs and budget. Focus on Enery offers cash incentives up to $2,250 to lower the upfront cost of recommended upgrades.

Choose Your Path

You've Got Options
Let's take a closer look at the different paths available through the Home Performance Program. Keep in mind your energy efficiency journey doesn't have to follow a straight line. Plus, you may qualify for a $250 bonus incentive when you complete Whole Home Improvements and Heating and Cooling Improvements together.

  • Whole Home Improvements
This is the best place to begin if you’re looking for top home comfort and serious savings. You’ll receive a full energy assessment and a customized report with recommended energy improvements. Recommendations may include specific building shell improvements, like insulation and air sealing, as well as heating and cooling equipment upgrades. Because this is the most comprehensive approach, it costs more up front, but you get the highest financial incentives and you’ll enjoy the largest long-term utility bill savings. Other advantages include greater home comfort, reduced drafts and temperature fluctuations, and better indoor air quality.
Financial incentives range from $850 to $2,250. Learn more

It offers financial incentives for a variety of energy- and money-saving improvements, such as a new furnace, boiler, or water heater. You can move forward with one project at a time or earn even greater incentives when you choose from the packaged options.
