Efficient Motors

Because improving your energy efficiency and competitive edge contributes to the state's economic development, Focus is now offering financial incentives to businesses installing NEMA Premium efficiency motors.

Why NEMA Premium motors?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, motor-driven equipment accounts for 64 percent of the electricity consumed by U.S. industry. NEMA Premium motors are designed to save energy and money through:
  • Reduced operating costs. Energy consumption accounts for 88 percent of the typical motor's lifetime cost. NEMA Premium motors can reduce electrical demand over standard motors by up to 18 percent. See table below.
  • Increased reliability. Manufactured with the highest quality materials, NEMA Premium motors often carry longer warranties.
  • Increased productivity. NEMA Premium motors generate less heat than standard motors, so lubricants and windings last longer -- reducing downtime and the costs of repairs and replacements.
  • Reduced carbon footprint. Increased energy efficiency means NEMA Premium motors use less electricity and reduce carbon emissions from power plants.
Cash Incentives
